Delhi air pollution has again caught national and international headlines in recent days. It peaked on both PM2.5 and PM 10 in recent days causing alarm bells in the country.  It is said that the pollution in Delhi is causing innumerable health issues every year yet the government is not taking concrete and strict measures to lower the pollution in the national capital territory.  The recent surge in pollution level is reported to have caused irritability and breathlessness. The government may not be taking the necessary steps but you can certain measures to ensure you stay unharmed by the side-effects of pollution. You can wear face masks and breathe in canned oxygen.

One can understand the seriousness of the issue on learning that 2.2 million children in Delhi have caught irreversible lung damage due to the poor quality of the air. There have been studies that show that pollution can weaken children's immune system besides raising risks of epilepsy, cancer, diabetes and diseases like multiple sclerosis. It can potentially cause reduced lung capacity, headaches, sore throats, coughs, fatigue, lung cancer, and even early death.
